Tiny T

This little T is more Medieval than Victorian. I wanted to pull away from the ribbon script style for the letter T. This design is based on a 15th Century Italian manuscript. I used Pergamenata paper with a moist brush watercolour technique. Raised gilded using 23K American shade gold. Finished size is 6"x2".

Truly Theatrical! A True show stopper!
I really love how you stepped out of your comfort zone and did something totally different. The colors are fabulous and I really think it is one of my favorites.
Great job!

Thanks Dana! The project has really stretched me. The colours in the letter were accidental. I had a dollop of a bright red paint on my palette that I didn't label. I thought it would produce a rich vermillion colour but it almost looked like a shell pink when I started painting with it. Great fun though!

Hi Valerie,
I will do a more extensive post about gilding soon. Easy to leran and adds so much sparkle!
