Meandering M....marks Mid-way!!!

I can't believe this is half way through the alphabet and the first of July! Happy Canada Day! This year is going by so quickly but I am really enjoying the process of these letters. Looking forward to teaching them as a workshop towards the end of the year!
This one is larger than most of the others. 5 1/2 x 2 1/2 on Arches HP paper. I did both flat and raised gilding on this piece. The plum colour for the ribbon script letter was mixed with Rose Dore and Winsor Blue. The little flowers were painted with Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and Winsor Blue. I finally found a delicate pink Diane Townsend Terrages pastel and used it for the shadow effect of the ribbon.

Very lovely. I hope you're planning to bring your portfolio to the Engrossing Saga in October so I can ooo and ahh over them in person!

The ribbon under the M almost looks like an ampersand--perhaps a monogram for a wedding in which the bride has already been persuaded to bolt?

Happy Canada Day, and congratulations on getting your postal service back!

Beautiful as always, Heather.

Will your workshop be online? I still want to take and online course from you! Don't forget to let me know when and if that becomes an option!

Thanks Joseph. This portfolio of letters will be at the Engrossing saga with me. I can't wait to get there! I do see the Ampersand now that you mention it. It would come in handy for such an occasion.
see you soon!

Nice to hear from you Kim. I am still working on the flourishing online course. At this point I have completed all of the notes and just have to shoot the video portions. It is taking me longer than expected but you are on my email list to send out when I am up and running. At this point The Enchanted Letters class is running as a in-class workshop.
Have a great weekend,
Heather
