Small Redwork Heart

I always find working with red to be a challenge. I mixed this red gouache from Maimeri Scarlet and Winsor Newton Spectrum Red. I added a tiny drop of Best bottle ink to help with the hairlines. I used the Zebra G nib and worked on Neenah Classic cream paper. Flowers are accented with Fabercastell Polychromos in Light Carmine and Juniper Green.

Hooray for the Zebra G--and your artistry, of course! Such beautiful work from a nib that was created for something entirely different.

Heather, it is great! I do not see any stuggle in this piece, so the mixture must work for you! As we have discussed, I have problems with red too ~ not sure why??

Anyway, this is spectacular!

I have Zebra Gs on my list too, so I hope Santa doesn't run out! :D

Hi Heather!
This is a beautiful design--but they all are!
Thank you so much for signing up for the CalligraFun giveaway. Donna from Lucky Dog won it and it was her birthday! I took your class at IAMPETH and loved it!!!
I love to flourish but I really need to practice more!
Have a wonderful Christmas!!!
