Illumination Class: Day One

This week I will be studying illumination techniques with Debbie Thompson Wilson. Today we worked on Romanesque illumination. This style uses a limited, bright palette. We did some painting experiments to get the gradation effects of the bright colours and then worked on this small dragon eating a cluster of fruit. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Where did this class take place? I am very interested in learning about illumination, but I'm having trouble finding classes (even though I'm in the NYC area). Your work is beautiful, and I'd love to learn similar techniques!

Hi,
Thank you for your kind words. The class ran at the Fieldcote Museum in Ancaster, Ontario. Usually it runs for a week in August every summer.
